Hi i am one of the mums who went to the Mothers Mission and i would strongly urge other mums to take on this experience. This was my second time over there and I came home, once again, with a felling that i had made a difference in a litlle child's life. That feeling is one of the best to experience. Some of the children there won't ever experience a mothers love or have the opportunity to grow up in a family enviroment. The mothers mission is all about giving to the kids, be it in funds, toys or just a simple cuddle. Remember that the children are the ones that are important.

Since 2008 a group of Queensland Ladies have travelled to South Korea on a Mothers Mission to help ESWS provide care and support for children in orphanages and single mothers. All the ladies are paying their own expenses so every dollar raised goes to help ESWS with the wonderful work they do. This year Community Aid Network is assisting with helping organise funding raise so please get behind the ladies and help where you can. you can follow the ladies on facebook as well.

Carol's thoughts
Hi, my name is Carol Exton and I have been lucky to have been on the last four mothers missions and Karen has wrapped those four years in a few short lines. We do all the things she said..we shop and sightsee and enjoy the company of other ladies we eat some great dishes. But most of all we give ourselves.....whether it' to clean,to sell at the department store or just cuddle a toddler or feed a baby we are there. Not a hard thing to do hey....So all you out there....contact Deb, put your name down and go...your heart will be the big winner.
Cheers
Carol

Karen Comments on her time in Korea
After reflecting on our trip I've decided that I definitely want to go again. Yes I shopped. Yes I did some sightseeing. Yes I had a good dose of laughter medicine with the other ladies. BUT I also cuddled and fed gorgeous little babies and played with toddlers. YES I definitely felt rewarded for being able to help for such a short time.
My plan is to help Deb with the fundraising and participate in another trip. If you've got the opportunity to save up and go on a trip like this, don't pass it up - No special skills required, just a little compassion and love to share. Karen

Bottle Donations
We made an executive decision to buy some baby bottles to replace the over used ones that they had.
We were able to purchase 400 bottles.
But still not enough.
Will be returning to Eastern next March so any donations towards the purchase of more bottles would be appreciated.

STAYED TUNED
Just got the green light we can go feed babies between 2pm and 3pm today.
Sent from Deb's IPad 2
Down in 3rd tunnel
This is a reinactment of how the 3rd tunnel was built. The yellow circles are where they put the dynamite. Tunnel is 1635 metres long and 2 metres wide and in some places 2 metres high but we had to wear hard hats due to the low roof in most places.
At the end of the tunnel it was only 300 metres to North Korea.
Sorry no photo's as cameras are not allowed.

Eastern Welfare Centre Anyang
Today we got to help out with the babies at Eastern baby rooms and Hanbit Nuri's home at Anyang.
We could not take photo's today as these children still had mothers there and didn't want photo's taken of their children.
But we all got to help out feeding and looking after the children today.
It is heart wrenching to see a lot of these children are unable to stay with their birth mothers.

Jacobs home
Today we went to Pyeongtaek to help with the children in Jacobs home.
We went on a picnic at a farm and also made cookies.
We were able to take 7 children for an outing, this doesn't happen unless they have helpers.
